Childish Gambino First Concert Ever 6/30

Mr. Donald Glover himself told us via his twitter that he, aka Childish Gambino will be having his first ever concert on June 30th at The Creek and The Cave in Queens. 8pm and tickets are $5 at the door. I am really excited to see what Donald has in store for us, it would be really great to meet him too. What a cool dude, so it seems. Check out his blog/website http://www.iamdonald.com/ He is always posting about what it is you need in order to live the good life. You can still download his two free rap/indie mixtapes at the link I posted two lines below. His new album 'Culdesac' is out July 4th weekend, it will be free. You can download that, when it comes out at http://www.childishgambino.com/ See you at the show!

Cloud Nothings on Record Store Day

Saturday was a glorious day for music lovers. Record Store Day had tons of material, discounts, and live performances all over the country. Cloud Nothings (more here) stopped back home for their RSD performance. They played to about 25-30 people (shame on you cleveland) outside of Music Saves in downtown Cleveland. This band is so good live. How their drum set hasn't broken in half yet, I don't know. They are everything that is right with rock and roll music. Check out their RSD performance of 'I Can't Stay Awake' below, and check out the entire set HERE.
PS - their drummer reminds me of the one and only zack kornfeld

Vampire Weekend - Blogotheque

La Blogotheque is an amazing French website that records artists in a very fast, one take, demoish type feel right in the heart of Paris. In 2008 Vampire Weekend stopped in for a session that you can watch Here. They headed back to France in 2010 for another session with La Blogotheque. They breeze through songs off their new album like 'Cousins', 'California English', and 'Horchata'. They also played a few songs off the old album. Usually tracks are broken down into different videos and shot in seperate locations. This time they kept the cameras rolling. Here is a special twenty minute set with Vampire Weekend playing for a very friendly crowd. Enjoy! :)

DMB Summer 2010 Schedule

It's that time of year again! The Dave Matthews Band has announced their 2010 Summer Tour. Best of all, they are opening the tour right here in Hartford! I am so pumped that Hartford gets to play host to the tour opener. It will be my first time attending the first show of the year and I'm excited to see what it feels like. Everything will be seen for the first time all year, and anticipation will be sky high.

DMB is also changing up their seating arrangements for 2010. Concerts held in arenas and stadiums will have general admission standing on the floor. Dave Matthews Band concerts in arenas and stadiums have always had assigned seating on the floor, but that will change this year, according to new Warehouse ticketing guidelines. The guidelines state, "In all arenas there will be GA floor standing on the arena floor, with reserved seating in the lower and upper arena seats." For stadiums, the guidelines say, "For concerts held in stadiums there will be GA field standing and reserved grandstand seating."

I'm not really sure how I feel about the new seating. I know for a fact that I don't feel like going into a show 4 hours early and not being able to take pee breaks...anywhoooo, here are the rest of the summer dates! Look for me to be at Hartford, Spac, Citifield, maybe Mansfield, and Scranton. And if DMB plays Roo.. I'm there!

Tickets are $40 for lawn seats + fees. Seats inside will run you $70 + fees. I'm thinkin Friday night on the lawn....Saturday night floooo seats.
